Behind the Scenes at The Disability Sports Network
Hi everyone,
I wanted to share a little insight into what I do behind the scenes when I’m not out photographing disabled sport.
Recently, I donated three footballs during Breast Cancer Awareness Month to a fantastic club supporting players with disabilities — Oldham Ability Counts FC. The team often trains in low-light conditions, and I was kindly sent some photos by Mark Senior, the club’s Secretary and Welfare Officer. You can find out more about the club here:

This came about after I discovered Golazzo Group while searching for something completely unrelated. I noticed they were selling footballs with a donation going to Breast Cancer Research for every ball purchased. After getting in touch, we worked together to identify a suitable club — which led to the donation of three footballs to Oldham Ability Counts FC.
Grassroots sports clubs often struggle with funding, especially inclusive and disability teams. Helping out in small but meaningful ways like this is something I’m committed to continuing quietly in the background.
The company who supplied the footballs was www.golazzogroup.com They do more than just footballs, they do complete kits for a variety of sports. Please check them out.
If you’d like to support or sponsor initiatives like this, please get in touch. I’m connected with many local teams and organisations that would truly benefit from simple support like equipment or resources.
You can support this work directly using the donation link below — every contribution truly makes a difference.
As this is a season of giving, why not consider donating to The Disability Sports CIC? Your support allows me to continue providing professional sports photography at no cost to local clubs. To give some context, a typical 2–3 hour match of any sport normally starts at £200 within London, with other areas and events are priced by quotation.
Donations also help make larger projects possible — such as covering major events like the Winter Paralympics — without sponsors or brand endorsements. My goal is simple: to photograph disability sport as it happens and bring it to the world’s attention, not just during two weeks of competition, but all year round. After Paris last year, this mission continues.
Disability sport deserves mainstream media coverage and prime-time visibility. These athletes are extraordinary, and by showcasing their performances, we can inspire more people to get involved in sport at every level and help grow an inclusive, thriving disabled sports community.
Together, we can help change how disability sport is seen — and celebrated — worldwide.
Thank you for taking the time to read and for supporting grassroots and inclusive sport.
