Naidex 2025

Yes, I know I am late to report on the Naidex show, but I needed time to think about what is NOT at Naidex and its Disabled Sports.

I visited Naidex this year and was brilliant to catch up with new contacts who I have chatted on line with. However I would like to see a lot more of the sports people not just Team GB Paralympics which is good, but what about tempting people to try out new sports eg Boccia, Wheelchair Rugby, Wheelchair basketball, Blind football, Fencing, track sports eg cycling, Running, shot put, javalin, Table tennis, Wheelchair racing and the list goes on.

The Government wants disabled people to be more active, so perhaps the sports fields need to get together and talk about advertising at Naidex and similar shows. The reason behind this is when I have spoken to people with disabilities either in person or online they say I did not know that was available

I photograph everything from the Grassroots clubs to the Paralympic level. So why is no one talking about it, probably the cost of exhibiting at Naidex and the limited budget the clubs and associations are on just cannot afford the stand rental (I cannot take a stand due to the expense I would be paying) and potential other cost associated with the exhibition e.g travel, overnight accommodation, food etc.

We need to include sponsorship of grassroot, national level and tracks to Paralympics etc, so why is no one sponsoring these sports like other mainstream sports I could mention? So come along corporates / Philanthropists please step up your gifting of funds for disabled sports. It will make a difference in so many lives that are untapped and need a little nurturing, Just remember the Purple pound in the UK is around £ 274 Billion Yes Billions of pounds (Source https://wearepurple.org.uk/the-purple-pound-infographic/)

So don’t you want a slice of that? email me with ideas michael@thedisabilitysportsnetwork.com to where I think you should put your sponsorship money into sports as I see it every time I photograph an event. People using old kit, both clothing and accessories, travel, banners etc
